Ugly Christmas National Sweater Day: Celebrate it with a festive poem

There’s plenty of time this holiday season to shake up the ugliest, most festive Christmas sweater you can find. (They also have some from Hannukah!) Throw it in for a Zoom party, a FaceTime meeting, or a small meeting inside the quarantine bubble.

To get the spirit, celebrate National Ugly Christmas Sweater Day with this festive poem.

Sticky sweaters in the gallery! It’s the holiday season!

Now, please don’t ask why. No one knows exactly why.

It may be that the timing is right.

There could be a Zoom party tonight.

It seems that the most likely reason of all,

They can be the big smiles they bring us all.

Make it festive or fun or fluffy or sweet.

There may be a contest and someone to beat.

They come covered with sparks, sequins and bells.

It has to be extra to sell.

Make it good and crazy to liven up Christmas.

Look for one with Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer.

Whatever you do, don’t be a Grinch.

Make one at home if you have a pinch.

Grab the glitter! Go get the ribbons and bows!

A string of Christmas lights will ensure that it shines.

The Whos of Whoville will be very proud.

Your boring old sweater is ugly and strong now.

When the day comes, keep it safe.

Anyway, at least I didn’t go down without explaining myself first.
