The McMystery has finally been resolved.
For years, McDonald’s fans have been wondering who, or what, is really the purple companion of pet Ronald McDonald.
Although it has long been known to be called Grimace, a member of Golden Arches has revealed the truth about the red-haired clown’s furry friend.
Brian Bates, the manager of a McDonald’s in Windsor, Canada, said Grimace is “a huge taste bud” that aims to simply show that food tastes good.
Bates, who was recently named senior manager of the year for his leadership role during the coronavirus pandemic, poured beans on CBC News about Grimace’s identity as he discussed his recognition and experience working at the famous chain of burgers and fries during COVID. 19.
But the revelation sparked shock waves via Twitter and users couldn’t help but joke when Grimace was declared a “taste bud”.
“I was many years old today when I learned that Grimace from the McDonald’s franchise is meant to be a human palate,” one fan said. he wrote.
Another added, “CHILDREN THIS GENERATION WILL NEVER EXPERIENCE THE FEAR OF SEEING THE GRIMACA OF MCDONALDS THAT HATE IT HERE !!!”
A fan intoned, “I was many years old today when I learned that Grimace was originally called ‘The Wicked Evil One’ and was a four-armed monstrous villain who stole (and probably ate children).” According to Mashed, Grimace lost the evil part of his name in 1972.
“YOU! There are already results! You have decided that #GRIMACE is both a Taste Bud and a Purple Poop. Even scoring!” Another he exclaimed.
In 2012, McDonald’s corporate Twitter account opened the topic of Grimace’s identity. “The grimace is the embodiment of a smoothie, although others still insist that it is a taste bud,” they say. he tweeted at the time.
McDonald’s has yet to weigh in on this new chapter of the Great Grimace Debate, not even to confirm Bates’ suspicion.
So who really is Grimace? You are the judge.
