The story of Woody Allen’s notorious relationship with Mia Farrow and her family will be explored in a four-part documentary on HBO.
Directed by Oscar-nominated documentaries Kirby Dick and Amy Ziering, the series entitled “Allen vs. Farrow” delves into one of Hollywood’s most public scandals: the allegation that Allen had sexually abused his then-adopted daughter Dylan, of 7 years. Allen has repeatedly denied the accusation.
In the fierce battle for custody that followed, it was revealed that Allen had had an affair with Farrow Soon-Yi Previn’s adopted daughter. Allen eventually married Previn.
HBO will premiere the first episode of the series on February 21, with new installments on subsequent Sundays.
The series recalls HBO’s involvement in Michael Jackson’s documentary “Leaving Neverland,” as both were secretly shot. Jackson had been charged with pedophilia before he died in 2009. He denied the allegations.
