The silence of conservative discourse on social media has become a “coordinated effort” by major technologies to shut down Parler, according to the social media platform CEO John Matze.
“This was a coordinated attack by the tech giants to kill competition in the market,” Matze’s statement read. “We were too successful too fast.
“You can expect the war against competition and freedom of expression to continue, but don’t discount us. #Speakfreely.”
Matze’s statement comes as Amazon removes the platform from its web servers, which could bring down the conservative social media platform for about a week.
“Sunday at midnight, Amazon will shut down all of our servers in an attempt to completely eliminate free speech from the Internet,” he wrote. “There is a possibility that Parler will not be available on the Internet for up to a week, as we are rebuilding from scratch.
“We prepared for events like this without ever relying on Amazon’s proprietary infrastructure and building bare metal products.”
Matze called on Amazon, Google and Apple to orchestrate “the coordinated effort.”
“We will do our best to move to a new supplier right now, as we have many competing for our business; however, Amazon, Google and Apple did it on purpose as a coordinated effort knowing that our options will be limited and knowing that this would cause most of the damage, as President Trump was banned from tech companies. “
