Fans of Transformers, My Little Pony and Dungeons & Dragons will have more ways to experience their favorite games and toys.
On Thursday, Hasbro shared its plans for dozens of movies and TV shows based on its iconic intellectual properties during Investors Day.
The Rhode Island-based toy maker has long been part of the entertainment industry with film franchises such as Transformers and My Little Pony-based animated television programs. Still, after the $ 3.8 billion acquisition of Entertainment One in late 2019, Hasbro has been able to triple the number of entertainment projects.
“Sometime between 2022 and 2023, you should see two to three movies every year for us and three to four live shows,” Hasbro CEO Brian Goldner said in an interview. “And then we’ll scale this as we add a new IP, while also doing later seasons of the programs we already have [created]. “
These upcoming projects range from theatrical premieres to unscripted competition shows.
Hasbro has previously announced several projects such as “GI Joe: Snake Eyes,” which will be released in theaters in October; a feature film Dungeons & Dragons starring Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez and Rege-Jean Page, and a Clue-based animated television series.
In addition, the toy maker revealed plans for unscripted projects based on Monopoly, Mouse Trap, Easy Bake, Operation, Nerf and Play-Doh.
Here’s a look at what’s coming from Hasbro and eOne:
Feature films
“Snake Eyes” – Arriving on October 22, “Snake Eyes” stars Henry Golding in the lead role. The film explores the origin story of GI Joe’s iconic character, who often dresses in black with a face-covering mask and is one of the organization’s most skilled operatives.
Power Rangers – Jonathan Entwistle, who produced the Netflix series “I’m Not Well With This” and “The End of the World F ******,” will direct a new Power Rangers film for Hasbro.
Dungeons and dragons – Jeremy Latcham, a producer with six Marvel movies in his belt, is one of the brains behind the upcoming Dungeons & Dragons movie being created in collaboration with Paramount Pictures. The film stars Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez, Justice Smith and Rege-Jean Page and will be written by John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, who wrote “Spider-Man: Homecoming.”

Series with script
Risk – A television show scripted by Beau Willimon (“House of Cards”) will be inspired by Risk, a board game where players seek global conquest through war, strategy and diplomacy.
Clue – There are few details about Hasbro’s plan for this animated series based on the popular board game, but Hasbro’s Goldner promises that the Fox show will be exciting and capture what has made Clue so popular over the years. Expect a few more adult themes with this animated series.
Transformers – In addition to the movies, Hasbro is expected to release two new Transformers shows. One is called “Bot Bots,” a 20-episode animated comedy series set to debut on Netflix. The other is an animated series made in collaboration with Nickelodeon. This series will have 26 half-hour episodes.
My little pony – After the debut of a My Little Pony movie on Netflix, Hasbro will release a TV series with Sunny Starscout and her friends.
Power Rangers – Hasbro is currently in the process of filming a new series called “Dino Fury”.
GI Joe – The company plans to bring a series of GI Joe live action to Amazon. The series will focus around the covert Lady Jaye operation and will connect with GI Joe’s larger universe.
Magic the Gathering – An entertainment program will go to Netflix, the company announced Thursday.
Dungeons and dragons– Hasbro is developing TV series based on the iconic board game that will debut after the feature film.
“Kiya” – Hasbro unveiled a new eOne series called “Kiya,” which centers around a superhero who saves the day with martial arts and dance. The series, originally from South Africa, is for children ages 3 to 6 and will premiere at Disney Jr. and Disney + in 2023. The series will have 52 episodes of about 11 minutes each.
TV without script
Hasbro has already released a cooking show based on its board game Candy Land with Food Network, but it doesn’t stop there. The company wants to do scripted and competitive shows with other properties in the future.
