Apple’s next revelation will be Apple Watch models, Cook said. Jeff Williams, Apple’s COO, announces the specifications.

The new models called Apple Watch Series 7 will have a redesign, according to a promotional video shown by Apple. The new models have a screen area of 20% compared to last year’s 6 series models, but retain an industrial design with rounded edges. Apple says the screen is more crack-resistant and loads faster.

Apple has redesigned its software to fit more information on the screen, the company said. Several new clock faces are introduced.

The entry model is available in five colors, including blue and red. It also includes aluminum, steel and titanium boxes, which have different prices. Earlier Apple Watch bands will continue to work with the new models, Apple said.

Apple did not reveal a release date for the new models, but said they would be available “later this fall.”

Apple announces the new low-cost iPad, the iPad Mini

Apple CEO Tim Cook moved on to product announcements, starting with a new iPad. The video was recorded in an empty auditorium.

The lower-cost Apple iPad, simply called the iPad, gets an upgrade with a faster A13 processor and a better 12-megapixel front-facing camera for better video calling, like in Zoom. It has a broader goal to capture more people in a single scene and can have an LTE wireless connection.

It costs $ 329 with 64GB of storage. This means more storage but the same starting price as before. It will go on sale next week.

Apple also announced a new iPad Mini, which has a smaller 8.3-inch screen. It has a redesign with a flatter design language, like the iPhone 12. It has smaller bezels without a fingerprint sensor on the front and comes in a variety of colors, including purple. It has a 12 megapixel rear camera and stereo speakers.

The Touch ID sensor is built into the top button, which turns the screen on and off. It uses a USB-C connector, instead of Apple’s proprietary Lightning connector. It can support a 5G wireless connection. It works with the Apple stylus, the second-generation stylus.

It starts at $ 499 and hits stores next week, Apple said.

Apple opened its program not with new hardware, but with a small video that highlights some of its programs on its Apple TV + streaming service. Apple is funding billions of dollars in new video content, including programs starring Reese Witherspoon and Jon Stewart. It costs $ 4.99 a month or is included with other Apple services, and the company has never disclosed subscriber numbers. – How to Leswing

More than 300,000 viewers have tuned in to Apple’s YouTube live stream

Five minutes before Apple’s program begins, 352,908 people stream the event to YouTube. It’s a sign that Apple can still generate immense consumer demand for its new handsets through its coordinated launch events.

Last year, more than 1.5 million people tuned in to Apple’s live launch in September, which didn’t include the announcement of the iPhone 12.

The product launch is also being streamed on Apple’s website. – How to Leswing

Apple is expected to announce an iOS 15 release date today

Apple’s next big iPhone software update, iOS 15, will be shipped to the new iPhones. But that means we should also expect a software release date on older iPhones. Last year, Apple released iOS 14 on September 16, though the new iPhones didn’t launch until October. I hope we see the iOS 15 version fixed sometime in the coming weeks.

IOS 15 includes many new updates. It features FaceTime calls with Android and Windows users and changes to iMessage that help you keep track of the photos and links they’ve sent you.

One of my favorite features, Focus, lets you turn off notifications for certain apps when you want your iPhone to stop bothering you. Apple is also working to add driver licenses to the Apple Wallet. But FaceTime SharePlay, which will allow you to watch programs on Disney +, Apple TV + and other compatible apps with friends, will not be available at launch.

Apple’s online store has collapsed, according to tradition

Customers who want to buy some products on Apple.com will have to wait until today’s launch event. Apple has stopped receiving orders in its online store, as has been a tradition for decades. “Come back immediately,” the Apple website tells customers trying to place an order.

Apple has the technology to update its store without downtime, but maintains current practice so customers won’t buy last year’s iPhone at last year’s prices minutes before the new one is revealed. It also generates advertising for Tuesday’s launch, at the expense of a few hours of sales that will probably make up for it when the site is back online.

Tim Cook mocks Joshua Tree National Park ads

Earlier Tuesday, Apple CEO Tim Cook mocked the iPhone event on Twitter with a post showing an image that appeared to be captured in Joshua Tree National Park.

“Good time from somewhere a little different this time,” Cook said in the tweet. “We’re in California streaming in 3 hours! See you soon.”

Since the start of the pandemic, Apple has aired pre-recorded events from its headquarters in Cupertino, California. Before the pandemic, Apple used to invite its partners and the press to splendid events held at the Steve Jobs Theater on its campus.

Will supply constraints affect the prices of new iPhones?

There is no shortage of computer chips affecting industries, from cars to smartphones. Apple even warned during its latest earnings call that iPhone production could feel the limitations.

So if Apple costs more to produce iPhones this year, will Apple have to go up to maintain its margins? Or will it eat up the costs of keeping iPhone prices the same?

We have seen mixed reactions from other hardware hardware manufacturers. Roku, for example, said in its latest earnings report that it kept its TV streaming devices at the same price, even though supply restrictions increased production costs.

On the other hand, Sonos recently increased the prices of some of its products to offset the increase in production costs.

We’ll see how Apple handles the issue when it announces the price of the iPhone at the end of its event on Tuesday.
