YouTube TV has announced that it will bring several premium features to the service.

When it comes to finding the best high end live TV service for you, the cost of the subscription is probably the most important for most consumers. But functions are just as important. A sports fan may prefer unlimited DVR space, while a family of four may prioritize viewing multiple devices. YouTube TV expands its features with a recently announced “Plug-in option” to play 4K plays or save them for offline viewing.

YouTube TV’s core plan currently supports six individual user accounts and up to three simultaneous streams. But YouTube says the same 4K add-on will also support “unlimited simultaneous streams at home,” which can be an appealing feature for, say, older families or in homes with multiple people sharing the cost of the plan.

All of this is very exciting, but YouTube doesn’t share the cost of the package right now. When Gizmodo asks them for comments, a spokesperson would only say that the benefits would be included in “an optional add-on for members.” (Hulu, for example, charges $ 10 a month in addition to the monthly subscription costs to support unlimited streams.) The weather isn’t clear either, and YouTube had nothing else to share when it came to commenting.

The features are certainly a welcome addition to an already fantastic cable alternative, but price will be key. The basic YouTube TV package, without any premium content using add-ons like Starz or Showtime, already costs $ 65 a month on its own. This is the same cost as Hulu with live TV, but both start to get quite expensive if you get entangled with additional entertainment packages and premium features.

Still, the 4K streaming stream sounds promising. And most importantly, now that we’re hooked up inside, the best possible transmission may be worth spending a few bucks a month.
